Allard Signs with 'Belles

Angelo State head volleyball coach Chuck Waddington has announced that Alexandra Allard of Laredo Community College has signed her letter of intent to play for the 'Belles in 2008.

Allard, a 5-7 setter from
San Antonio, brings a solid resume to San Angelo.  A 2007 NJCAA Preseason All-American, and 2006 Region 14 first team selection and Setter of the Year, Allard finished the 2007 season 12th in the National Junior College Athletic Association in assists per game (11.6) and 10th in hitting percentage (.520) in helping the Palominos to the semi-finals of the Region 14 championship tournament.

“Alex gives us a lot of depth at the setter position,” Waddington said.  “She also has a lot of experience in a good program against a high level of competition.  She is from San Antonio and familiar with Angelo State and is excited about helping ASU get back to where we want to be.”

The 'Belles report for fall practice the first week of August and kick off the 2008 season against Colorado State-Pueblo in Pueblo, Colo., on Aug. 29 at the Colorado State-Pueblo Invitational tournament.
