ASU Falls to Wildcats at LSC Tourney

The Angelo State volleyball team saw its season come to an end in the first round of the Lone Star Conference Tournament, falling to Abilene Christian, 3-0, Thursday afternoon in Canyon.

The 'Belles, who entered the tournament as the No. 6-seed, lost by scores of 25-12, 25-15 and 25-23. Angelo State's season ends with a record of 20-14 while ACU, the No. 9-ranked team in the latest NCAA Division II South Central Region, improves to 25-8 and will meet the winner of Tarleton State and Texas A&M-Commerce in the semifinals on Friday.

The Wildcats dominated the match from start to finish as forced the 'Belles in 28 attack errors while committing only 18. ACU also controlled play at the net recording 11 total blocks to ASU's three.

The 'Belles were led on offense by Alaina Sivells who recorded nine kills. Senior Tess Brindock, playing the final match of her career, dished out 18 assists to bring her career total to 4,182 in her four years in an ASU uniform.
