Angelo State head softball coach Travis Scott has announced that Temple's Kacie Easley will join his squad for the upcoming season.
Easley, a three-time all-district performer at Temple High School, will look to take over the open spot at catcher vacated by the departure of three-year starter Laura Lopez. Easley was a three-time Team MVP for the Wildcats and brings extensive club experience to the Rambelles, most recently as a member of the Texas Stix the past three summers.
“Kacie will bring to our team a gap to gap hitter with home run potential. Defensively, she will be expected to compete for our starting catching position.” “We are glad to have Kacie on board and look forward to seeing her develop in this league.”
The Rambelles are coming off of a 50-10 season and a third trip to the NCAA Division II Softball National Championships in the past six seasons. Angelo State, the No. 4-ranked team in NCAA D-II this past spring after a third-place finish at the national tournament, has hosted the NCAA D-II South Central Region Tournament each of the past three years.
