The Angelo State soccer team took a break from conference play Wednesday afternoon and was handed a 1-0 home loss to Texas-Permian Basin. The Rambelles fell to 9-9 on the season as they closed out the home portion of their schedule.

The Falcons (5-11-1) got the only goal of the game in the 29th minute as Hanna Dozier netted her 13th goal of the season thanks to a cross from Jessica Lentz. ASU out-shot the Falcons, 16-14, but UTPB managed 11 shots on goal, compared to just eight by the Rambelles.

Freshman Lauren Carnes led ASU with four shots, three of which were on goal, while senior Christian Willman and sophomore Brandie DeBacker each added three shots.

The Rambelles close out the 2009 season Sunday when they visit Midwestern State. Game time is 3 p.m. in Wichita Falls.
