ASU headed back to playoffs

The Angelo State volleyball team will make its second straight appearance in the Lone Star Conference Tournament Thursday as the 'Belles face Texas Woman's in the event's opening match.

ASU earned the No. 3 seed in this year's LSC Tournament after posting a 10-3 conference mark, thanks to an eight-match LSC winning streak to end the regular season. The 'Belles went 18-13 in the regular season to secure its second consecutive winning campaign.

The 'Belles met TWU earlier in the season with the Pioneers, seeded No. 6 in this weekend's tournament, claiming a three-set win in San Angelo on Oct. 10. ASU will be looking for revenge Thursday as the 'Belles face TWU at 12 p.m. at the WTAMU Fieldhouse, a.k.a. "The Box", on the campus of West Texas A&M in Canyon.

The first round of the LSC Tournament will continue Thursday with three more matches. No. 2-seeded Abilene Christian will face No. 7-seeded Texas A&M-Kingsville at 2:30 p.m. to complete ASU's bracket. Fourth-seeded Texas A&M-Commerce and No. 5-seed Central Oklahoma will play at 5 p.m. with top-seed and host WTAMU to play No. 8-seed Midwestern State at 7:30 p.m. Tournament semifinals are scheduled for 5 & 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, with the LSC title match to be played at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14.

Reserved all-session passes are $20 and can be purchased on site starting Thursday. Single-session tickets run $6 for reserved, $5 for general admission and $3 youth/student/seniors. All-Tournament Family Passes are available for the LSC Tournament for $20. These passes provide general admission for two adults and two children.
