NCBWA Honors Adamson, Towne

Angelo State juniors Chris Adamson and Keith Towne were named by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) to its All-America team released Thursday afternoon.

Adamson, a native of Sydney Australia, was named to the association's second team as a utility having played the majority of the season at first base with an occasional appearance at catcher. Adamson led the Rams with a .409 batting average, was second with a .488 on-base percentage, and was third with 56 RBI.

Towne, who hails from Katy, was named to the third team as a designated hitter. Towne finished second in NCAA Division II with an ASU and LSC single-season record 26 home runs while also leading the Rams with 180 total bases and 86 RBI, fourth and seventh in NCAA D-II, respectively.

The duo was honored earlier this spring as All-Americans by CoSIDA, both earning second team honors by that organization.
