Rams Defeat Lubbock Christian 71-65

SAN ANGELO, Texas –
The Angelo State men's basketball team had three players score in double figures to help the Rams defeat Lubbock Christian 71-65 at Stephens Arena inside the Junell Center.
 
The Rams (1-0, 0-0) were down by eight points to Lubbock Christian (2-2, 0-0) with 6:46 to go in the second half after only being down two at half. Antonio Dye hit a three pointer for seven of his points to spark a 9-0 run for ASU.
 
The Chaps Jamaal Crayton hit two free-throws to tie the game at 58 with 3:51 to go before the Rams would take the lead for good with clutch free throws by Jovan Austin, Dye and Bryan Hammond. Angelo State scored 21 points by way of the charity line.
 
Hammond and Ryan Marsh led the Rams with 14 points each while Marsh added nine rebounds on the night. Dakota Rawls chipped in 10 points in 36 minutes of action.
 
LCU had Jabril Durham and Tyler Kennedy score 16 points in the loss. Eli Baker recorded a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds in 27 minutes.
 
The Rams next home game with Arlington Baptist has been moved from Friday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. to Sunday, Nov. 18 at 3 p.m.
