SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State volleyball team is headed to Denver, Colo. to play in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Championship and will play Adams State in the first round.
The Belles (27-5) are making their second straight trip to the national postseason and are the No. 4 seed in the South Central Region. Angelo State and Adams State will play the third match of the day on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 5 p.m. (MT) with the tournament is being hosted on the campus of Regis University. ASU, which is ranked No. 11 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association national poll, enters the tournament as the Lone Star Conference's regular season champion and were LSC Championship tournament finalist.
"I like the bracket and the teams we are going to play," ASU head coach
Chuck Waddington said. "There's a good opportunity out there for us. Adams State is a great team and are an excellent opponent to open up against. I think our girls are excited and will be ready to compete."

The Belles are 4-2 all-time against Adams State which enters the tournament with a 24-5 record after falling in the semifinals of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference semifinals to the region's top-seed Regis. West Texas A&M is the No. 2 seed in the tournament.
ASU is 4-1 in neutral court matches this season and are 2-2 in the State of Colorado after earning wins over Cal State-San Bernadino and Lewis University and dropping matches to Regis University and Colorado School of Mines at the Colorado Premiere Challenge in early September.
Angelo State, which is making its sixth national tournament appearance, went 1-1 in last season's South Central tournament with an opening-round win over St. Edward's before falling to top-seeded Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo. The Belles are 3-6 all-time in program history in the NCAA tournament.
"We are more of a veteran team that has tournament experience now," ASU senior
Alex Woolsey said. "Everyone was new to it last year, but we know what to expect this year. We'll be more comfortable as a team this time and we are motivated and ready to go."
