SAN ANGELO – A week after racking up conference honors, four Angelo State volleyball players have been honored on the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-South Central Region team.

Shelbi Goode, Maddie Huth and Alex Woolsey were each named to the All-South Central team with Shelby Wilt being an honorable mention selection.

"I am excited to see four of our kids earn all-region status," ASU head coach Chuck Waddington said. "It says a lot about where we are as a program and the hard work we have put in this year."

Woolsey is a two-time AVCA South Central Region honorable mention selection and earns a spot on the All-South Central team for the first time along with Goode and Huth. The honorable mention nod is the first in the career of Wilt, as well.

Woolsey currently has 1,358 assists this season and was also named the Lone Star Conference's Setter of the Year and to its first team. She broke the ASU career record for assists this season and was a four-time LSC Setter of the Week. Goode has 416 kills in her first season at ASU and was named the conference's Newcomer of the Year after being its Offensive Player of the Week twice. Huth, an LSC first-team selection and two-time Offensive Player of the Week, has 348 kills and 112 blocks going into the national tournament. Wilt, a sophomore, was named the conference's Libero of the Year and was a four-time Defensive Player of the Week. She currently has 608 digs this season.

The four players being honored marks a program high for Angelo State, with no other team ever having more than two selections. In 1992, Rose Molinar and Gail Allison were each named to the team, while in 2010 it was Woolsey and Kaelen Valdez who were honored.

The Belles, making their second straight trip to the NCAA Division II national tournament, return to action at 5 p.m. (MT) on Thursday, Nov. 29 against Adams State in Denver, Colo., in the first round of the South Central Championship tournament.
