SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State women's basketball team hits the road for the start of Lone Star Conference play with a game against Eastern New Mexico at 5:30 p.m. MT on Wednesday.
The Belles (2-3) start conference play on a two-game losing streak after falling to Southwestern Oklahoma State over the weekend. Eastern New Mexico is 0-4 on the season. The two teams split the season series last year.
Lauren Holt is the Belles leading scorer and rebounder at 11.8 point and 11.0 rebounds per game. The junior is fourth in the league in rebounding and second in blocked shots at 2.2 per game.
Sally Walling Brooks has her team playing extremely good defense. Her squad is holding team to 56.6 point per game and field goal percentage defense at 32 percent which is tops in the LSC in both categories.
The depth for the Belles has increased as 14 players have seen action this season. Freshman
Faith Hunt has started in three games in her young career and every freshman has played in at least three games.
