SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State men's basketball team was held to 38 percent shooting and to its second lowest scoring output of the season as the Aggies took a 56-52 at Stephens Arena in the Junell Center on Wednesday night.

The Rams (9-12, 2-9) put themselves in an early 7-0 lead and were down 17-8 at the 10:34 mark before battling back. The score was cut to 21-19 on a Dakota Rawls three before Cameron (12-7, 8-5) took a four-point lead into the half at 25-21.

Six players scored for the Rams in the first half as Keenen Coleman and Hanif Nixon-Hughes each had five at the break. Despite having six score, ASU shot 30 percent from the floor in the first half.

The second half started with Cameron on a seven to three run to extend its lead to five. LaDonn Huckaby converted a free throw after putting in a layup to make the score 32-30 in favor of the Aggies. Cameron shot 84 percent from the free-throw line in the second half to keep the Rams from coming back.

Coleman led the Rams with 12 points and Huckaby added in 11. ASU was able to force 14 turnovers but only shot 57 percent from the charity stripe.

The Rams will hit the road to face No. 11 Midwestern in Wichita Falls with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m. Fans can tune into 1260AM KKSA and www.angelosports.com for all the action.
