SAN ANGELO, Texas – The No. 16 Angelo State women's indoor  track & field team earned six NCAA provisional marks and had numerous seasonal best marks at the Lone Star Conference Invitational held in Lubbock.

“It was a great meet for us,” head track & field coach James Reid said. “We had a bunch of seasonal bests and overall it was a very productive day. I was very pleased with the effort. We brought 12 girls and they got after it today. Everything we asked, they did it. It wasn't a conference championship but it had the feel. We wanted to make a statement and I think we did that with our performance.”

Chrystal Ruiz continued an outstanding weekend by winning the 55M hurdles with a time of 8.18. The time ties her season best. Teammate Cahtyrn Rittenberry was third with an 8.37. It is .01 off her season-best time.

Kimberly Williams won her first title of the season in the shot put. The junior won with a throw of 41'-1.50” (12.53M). Ashley Francis placed fifth with her mark of 38'-1.25” (11.61M).

The duo of Kelsey Coffman and Summer Sutherland took on each other in the pole vault as both cleared a NCAA Division II provisional mark of 11'-9.75” (3.60M). Coffman was awarded the title over Sutherland taking fewer jumps to clear the bar. It is a season best for both competitors.

The Rambelles' 4x400M relay ran its fastest time of the season. The relay consisted of Ruiz, Lexi Brooks, Theresa Sue and Jaylen Rodgers ran a NCAA Division II provisional time of 3:49.14 and finished in second place.

Angelo State took three of the top six places in the triple jump. Brittany Clarke placed second with a jump of 36'-7.75” (11.95M). Rodgers (35'-10.50”/10.93M) and Rittenberry (34'-7.75”/10.56M) finished in fifth and sixth place, respectively.

Kati Holly cleared 5'-5” (1.65M) which was good for third place.

The NCAA Division II Indoor Championships will be held in Mankato, Minn., on March 9-10.
