Game at San Angelo, Texas | Foster Field | Rams win series 4-0 |
SAN ANGELO, Texas – No. 24 Angelo State swept its third series of the young season by pounding out nine doubles and a total of 19 hits in a 14-4 non-conference win over Colorado-State Pueblo on Sunday at Foster Field.
The Rams (13-2) took the four-game series by a dominating 34-7 margin over the visiting ThunderWolves (2-6) and have now outscored their opponents 109-45 this season. ASU is 3-0 in games where a series sweep is possible and have won the games by a combined score of 38-9.
“You need to have a killer instinct when you have an opportunity to put someone away,” ASU head coach
Kevin Brooks said. “Thus far, we've done a great job of doing that.”
Bren Schuehler worked around an adventurous first inning to win his first game of the season for the Rams after going five innings. Schuehler (1-1) struck out six, scattered five hits and managed four walks. The senior from Allen stranded the bases loaded in the first inning after hitting the leadoff hitter with the game's first pitch and cruised the rest of his outing after the ASU offense posted four runs in the first frame.
The Rams had nine different players have hits against five ThunderWolf pitchers, including
Ryan Greer,
Toby Semler and
Quaid McKinnon who each had three-hit performances in front of their home crowd.

Doug Snover hit his first home run of the season with a shot to left field. Snover,
Zach Cohen,
Andrew LaCombe and
Lee Neumann each had two hits in the lopsided game.
“I cant' look through the lineup and see someone that didn't get a hit or contribute in one way or another to getting runs around to score,” said Parsons, who is now in a tie with LaCombe and
Tate Allison with two home runs this season for the team lead. “It was a great all-around effort. I think the wheels are in motion right now. ”
Matt Rechkemmer came into the game and delivered a double for his first hit of the season, while
Nate Alter reached base and scored a run in the eighth inning. Greer, LaCombe and Neumann each had two doubles each. ASU relievers
Andrew Heldman,
Jake Albert,
