Three Named USTFCCCA All-Academic

A total of 562 were named to the All-Academic teams

SAN ANGELO, Texas – Angelo State's Bryan Barker, Emeline Crutcher and Alyssa Priest have been named to the 2011 Division II All-Academic Cross Country team announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coach Association.

Crutcher was the top runner on the women's team this year. She placed 10th at the NCAA Division II South Central Regional and was named LSC All-Conference. The senior placed in the top 10 in every meet during the season. Crutcher was named the LSC's Female Academic Runner of the Year for her work in the classroom.

Priest was the second Belle runner to cross the line and finished at the regional meet in 47th. She improved her time by over two minutes at the regional meet. The senior placed 21st at the LSC Cross Country Championships.

Bryan Barker was named All-Region and LSC All-Conference this past season. He placed 21st at the NCAA Division II South Central Regional. Barker was a strong fourth place at the LSC Cross Country Championships and earned All-LSC honors.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team in Division II, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or greater through the most-recent semester, completed at least 12 credit hours in the semester of cross country competition, and placed in the top 50 percent at the most recent NCAA National Championships or in the top 30 percent at the NCAA Regional Championships.
