SAN ANGELO, Texas – Angelo State senior
Rick Reyna has been named the Lone Star Conference's Diamond Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.
Reyna (2-1) rolled through the Colorado State-Pueblo lineup last Saturday and picked up a complete-game shutout win over the ThunderWolves. The Mission native struck out eight and allowed only three hits in his second win of the season for the Rams. Reyna held CSU-Pueblo to a .130 batting average in the game and now sports a 1.50 ERA through 24.0 innings pitched this season.
"He threw strikes and he competed very well out there on the mound against Pueblo," ASU head coach
Kevin Brooks said.
Reyna, who has struck out 20 hitters and has a 0.00 ERA in 13 innings this season at home, is tabbed to be the Game 2 starter this weekend in the Rams' three-game series against Central Oklahoma at Foster Field.
