Cactus Cup Men Results
SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State track and field teams scored a total of seven NCAA Division II marks with five new or improved marks after competing in the Cactus Cup in Kingsville, Texas, on Saturday.
Kelsey Coffman,
Summer Sutherland,
Theresa Sue and
Kimberly Williams all hit the NCAA Division II marks with Coffman and Williams improving on season bests. The Rams had
Keaton Hatch,
Patrick Hunter and
Jacob McDonald all have season best marks. Hatch and Hunter both added their names to NCAA Division II list after provisional marks.
The Ramebelles took the top three spots in the women's pole vault. Coffman won the women's pole vault with a season-best and NCAA Division II mark of 12'-3.50” (3.75m). Sutherland cleared a NCAA Division II mark of 11'-7.75” (3.55m) for second placed and
Aimee Denham was third in 11'-1.75” (3.40m).
Theresa Sue added her name to the NCAA Division II list in the long jump with a big jump. Sue jumped 18'-9” (5.71m) for a second place finish in the long jump.
Williams finished in second place in the women's shot put with a NCAA Division II throw of 44'-9.75” (13.66m). It is her second NCAA Division II provisional mark of the season in the shot put. She aslo won the women's discus with a throw of 141'-5” (43.11m).
The Rams got big marks from all three. Hatch finished in third in the men's discus with a season best and NCAA Division II provisional mark of 163'-5” (49.81m). It is his first provisional mark of the season.
Hunter was the next Ram to get a provisional mark. He won the men's triple jump with a NCAA Division II provisional mark of 49'-5.50” (15.07m) which is his season best as well. Hunter placed second in the long jump with a jump of 23'-2” (7.06m)
McDonald already had his name on the NCAA Division II list but improved his mark. He won the javelin throw with a season-best throw of 207'-2” (63.15m). McDonald improved by roughly nine feet.
Two Rams placed in the top three in the 400m.
Isidro Garcia ran a 49.51 for second place followed by
Dallas Gray's 49.69 for third.
Jaylen Rodgers finished the 800m in second place with a time of 2:19.11.
Bryan Barker ran a 3:59.78 in the 1500m for a third place finish.
Chisom Akagha crossed the line in second place in the 110m hurdles with a 15.10. The Rambelles took the top two spots in the women's 100m hurdles.
Cathryn Rittenberry won with a 14.67 with Sue finishing with the exact same time of 14.67 and was awarded second.
The men's 4x400m relay of
Robbie Thayer, Gray,
Nick Smith and Garcia ran a 3:17.49 to take the title.
