SAN ANGELO, Texas – Angelo State's
Jacob McDonald earned a trip to the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships in Pueblo, Colo., after hitting a NCAA Division II automatic mark in the javelin on Saturday at the Bobby Lane Invitational in Arlington, Texas.
The Rams and the Rambelles combined for one automatic mark and four provisional marks on the day.
McDonald booked with his NCAA Division II automatic throw of 215'-7” (65.73m). He won the javelin throw and beat former teammate
Tyler Orlando.
The men's 4x400m relay

Robbie Thayer,
Dallas Gray placed second finished in second beating the likes of TCU, Northwestern State, Abilene Christian, North Texas, Tarleton State and UT-Arlington. The 4x400m relay ran a NCAA Division II provisional mark of 3:11.09 and the time is currently No. 2 in NCAA Division II.
Garcia also hit a NCAA Division II provisional mark in the 400m. He ran a 47.93 and placed fourth overall.
Summer Sutherland finished in second place in the pole vault with a season-best clearance. She cleared 12'-5.50” (3.80m) to finish behind Alexandra Acker of Oklahoma.
Theresa Sue recorded her first NCAA Division II provisional mark with her win in the 400m hurdles. Her time of 1:01.78 currently ranks her at No. 6 in NCAA Division II. Jeffery Jones finished in fifth in the men's 400m hurdles with a 55.23.
Bryan Barker ran the 1500m in a time of 3:59.97 to cross the line in fifth place.
McDonald also competed in the pole vault placing third. He cleared 15'-3” (4.65m).
In the men's discus,
Keaton Hatch, threw 161'-10” (49.34m) to finish in ninth place.
Sean Reagan was 13
th and threw a mark of 151'-8” (46.24m).
Jordan Gray,
Cathryn Rittenberry and Sue both ran in the 100m hurdles finishing in 11
th, eighth and ninth, respectively. Rittenberry clocked a 14.71 with Sue right behind her in a 14.72. Gray came across in 15.03.
Jaylen Rodgers ran a 2:16. 32 in the 800m to finish in 10
th place.
The Rams and the Rambelles will now focus on the Texas Relays held in Austin, Texas next week.
