Reid Named LSC Coach of the Year

Reid was honored with the award for the sixth-straight year

SAN ANGELO, Texas – Angelo State's head track & field coach James Reid was named the Lone Star Conference Women's Track & Field Coach of the Year and his team was awarded a total of 14 all-conference honors.

It is the sixth-straight year that Reid has been named coach of the year. He led the Rambelles to their fourth-straight LSC title with the help of six all-conference selections.

The Rambelles had a total of four student-athletes win six LSC individual champions. Theresa Sue was the top point scorer for the Rambelles with 27. She won the long jump and her second-straight 400-meter hurdles while also scoring in the 100-meter hurdles, 4x100-meter relay and 4x400-meter relay.

Kimberly Williams won two titles as well as being all-conference for the second time in her career. She won her second shot put title and picked up her first javelin championship.

Summer Sutherland won her second LSC pole vault title of her career and it is her second time to be named all-conference. Freshman Jaylen Rodgers ran a personal-best time of 2:10.66 to win the 800-meter championship.

Cathryn Rittenberry scored 17 points placing in the 100-meter hurdles, long jump and the heptathlon for her second all-conference honor. Emeline Crutcher earned her second-straight conference selection by scoring 16 points in the 10,000-meter and the 1,500-meter run.

On the men's side a total of eight were named all-conference with the Rams winning five LSC titles. The men's 4x400-meter relay  along with Patrick Hunter, Jacob McDonald and Austin Slone all won titles.

McDonald won two titles on his way to scoring 20 points at the meet. He won the javelin and pole vault championships.

Hunter earned all-conference honors by winning the men's long jump and his Slone took the triple jump title for his first all-conference award.

The men's 4x400-meter relay of Dallas Gray, Brendon West, Robbie Thayer and Isidro Garcia were named to the all-conference list for winning the relay. It is Garcia's second-straight year to be an all-conference selection.

Bryan Barker scored a total of 15 points in the 1,500-meter, 5,000-meter and the 3,000-meter steeplechase for his first all-conference honor.

The 14 total selections is tied for most in the league with Abilene Christian.
