Rams & Rambelles Honored with Regional Awards

A total of 17 student-athletes were honored

SAN ANGELO, Texas – Seven Rams and 10 Rambelles were named to the South Central All-Region track & field team announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

On the men's side Isidro Garcia (400m, 4x400m relay), Dallas Gray (400m, 4x400m relay), Jacob McDonald (javelin, pole vault) and Brendon West (400m, 4x400m relay) picked up two regional honors. Austin Slone (triple jump), Stormy Smothers (decathlon) and Robbie Thayer (4x400m relay) were also honored.

The women had Theresa Sue (long jump, 400m hurdles, 4x400m relay) pick up three regional awards and Jaylen Rodgers (800m, 4x400m relay) earned two. Lexi Brooks (4x400m relay), Kelsey Coffman (pole vault), Emeline Crutcher (5000m), Keshawna Fisher (4x400m relay), Cathryn Rittenberry (heptathlon), Jayda Spencer (discus), Summer Sutherland (pole vault) and Kimberly Williams (javelin) all added one all-region honor.

The top five from each region in individual events and each member of a relay ranked in the region's top three have earned the All-Region distinction for the 2012 outdoor season. The Rams & Rambelles will compete in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships on the campus of Colorado State Pueblo in Pueblo, Colo., on May 24-26.
