SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State track & field teams will send 19 student-athletes to the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships in Pueblo, Colo., on May 24-26 on the campus of Colorado State University at Pueblo.
Three student-athletes were automatically guaranteed spots with Jacob McDonald (javelin), Austin Slone (triple jump) and Theresa Sue (long jump). Sixteen others earned at-large berths announced by the NCAA.
The Rams and Rambelles have 12 making their debut at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships. Lexi Brooks (4x400-meter relay), Keshawna Fisher (4x400-meter relay), Dallas Gray, (400-meter, 4x400-meter relay), Keaton Hatch (discus), Patrick Hunter (long jump, triple jump) Jeffrey Jones (400-meter hurdles), Sean Reagan (discus), Cathryn Rittenberry (100-meter hurdles, heptathlon), Jaylen Rodgers (800-meter, 4x400-meter relay), Theresa Sue (long jump, 4x400-meter relay), Summer Sutherland (pole vault) and Brendon West (400-meter, 4x400-meter relay) will be packing their bags for the national championships.
Kimberly Williams (javelin) will be making her second trip to the NCAA Division II Championships but it will be her first time to compete in the javelin. Others making return trips include Kelsey Coffman (pole vault), Isidro Garcia (400-meter, 4x400-meter relay), McDonald (javelin, pole vault), Slone (triple jump), Jayda Spencer (discus), Robbie Thayer (4x400-meter relay).
The Rams are currently ranked No. 12 in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association rankings while the Rambelles check in at No. 20.
