Preseason Notes
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Angelo State football team was picked to finish sixth in the 2012 Lone Star Conference preseason poll announced by the league on Tuesday.
The Rams picked up 99 points in the poll and sits ahead of Incarnate Word, Eastern New Mexico and Texas A&M Commerce.
Midwestern State was named preseason favorites with 19 first place votes. The Mustangs are the defending LSC Champions. Abilene Christian was second in the poll with West Texas A&M and Texas A&M-Kingsville in third and fourth. Tarleton State is one spot ahead of ASU in fifth.
The Rams open the season on Sat., Sept. 1 against Western State at 2 p.m. in San Angelo Stadium.
