The Rams were at San Angelo Stadium for the first scrimmage of the season in front of almost 200 fans.
The offense and defense went through roughly 75 plays and both sides had highlights. The defense was able to put some hits on the ball carriers and forced a couple of turnovers with a fumble and an interception. The defense applied pressure often with the quarterbacks having to take sacks or throw on the run.
The offense worked on tempo and calling plays with a play clock running the entire scrimmage. The offense had a couple of longs runs and was able to move the ball with both the pass and run.
Day nine is in the books but preparation continues for the first game of the season on Saturday, September 1 at San Angelo Stadium against Western State. The Rams will take part in practice tomorrow at 3 p.m.
