ANGELO STATE SOCCER

SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State soccer team continued its preseason practice schedule on Tuesday with a morning workout and an afternoon film session.

"The phase of the preseason that we are in right now is really a mini-recovery time," ASU head coach Travis McCorkle said. "We have to get through this period when we have tired legs and are mentally fatigued from our two-a-day practices last week. We are starting to get into our game schedule where we have intense practices on Tuesday and Wednesday and then a lighter day on Thursday to get ready for games on the weekend.”

The Rambelles will host Hardin-Simmons at 11 a.m. on Friday in their last scrimmage of the preseason.

ASU, which has advanced to the postseason the past two years, is now 10 days away from traveling to Odessa to face Texas-Permian Basin in the 2012 season-opener at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30. The Rambelles open their home schedule at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1 against New Mexico Highlands.
