SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State women's track & field team will open up the indoor season this weekend with the Texas Tech Open on Saturday in Lubbock.
The Rambelles will be competing in quite a few events in their first meet. The national runner-up in the 800m last season,
Jaylen Rodgers, will run the 800m and 4x400-meter relay. She will also compete in the triple jump. Rodgers was the Lone Star Conference champion in the 800m last season.
Kimberly Williams, the LSC shot put champion last year, will throw the shot put to open the season. Two-time LSC Champion in the pole vault,
Summer Sutherland will open her season as will All-American
Theresa Sue in the long jump, 55m hurdles and 4x400-meter relay.
Kearah Danville, a New Mexico Highlands transfer, was the 2012 NCAA Division II triple jump champion outdoors. She will be a junior and start the season entered in the triple jump, high jump and long jump.
Jordan Gray and
Jasmine Ambowode will start their training for the pentathlon as each will compete in multiple events.
Kati Holly will work on the high jump and
Lexi Brooks will run the 600-yard and the 4x400-meter relay.
The meet will start at 10 a.m. with field events and running events will being at 11:30 a.m.
