The No. 25 Angelo State football team will return home to host Texas A&M-Kingsville for homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. at LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field. The game will be carried locally on KWFR 101.9FM The Fire with Jeremy Bryant (play-by-play) and Daniel Ramirez (color analyst) on the call.

Texas A&M-Kingsville
The Javelinas are 1-5 on the season and 0-3 in the LSC. Texas A&M-Kingsville is coming off a 38-34 loss to Tarleton State. TAMUK's lone win came in a 38-20 win over Missouri S&T. Prior to Kingville, Wilkerson was on the Colorado State-Pueblo staff from 2008-2014.

The Series

Throwback Uniforms
The Angelo State football team will pay tribute to the late Ben Kelly this Saturday with throwback uniforms. Kelly played for San Angelo College from 1953-1954 and was likely the first black player to compete for a previously all-white college football team. His first game on September 19, 1953 against Phoenix College was eight months before the Supreme Court decision in Brown vs. Board of Education. He was a two time All-Pioneer Conference first team selection. The Rams went 10-8-1 in Kelly's 19 games. After playing two years in the NFL for the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Giants, Kelly returned to San Angelo to run the Boys and Girls Club for 29 years. Kelly passed away at the age of 83 on November 15, 2014.

Defensive Touchdowns
The Rams continued to score on the defensive side of the ball. Clayton Callicutt fell on a fumble in the endzone for his third career touchdown. It is the second straight week ASU has scored a defensive touchdown and fourth time this season. The four defensive touchdowns are fourth nationally.
