FRISCO, Texas –
Collin Turner's record breaking night lifted Angelo State University over Lubbock Christian in the quarterfinals of the Lone Star Conference tournament on Friday night in a nail-biting double overtime, 97-92.
Turner was lights out as he broke several conference and school records in the victory over LCU. The senior guard tied the ASU program record and set the LSC Championship record for most points in a single game with 47, tying the record set by Jeff Fudge in 1990. He also broke three other records, free throws made and attempted (21-25) and steals (9).

- Both teams traded off baskets to start the game with ASU grabbing its first lead off a jump shot by Paul Williams to lead, 8-7.
- After LCU and ASU tied the game at 12-12 at the 11:27 mark, the Rams went on an 11-4 scoring run to increase the lead to 23-14.
- From there, the Blue and Gold sparked an 11-0 run over the span of three and a half minutes that started with two free throws by Andres Ibarguen. Burone Edwards contributed with a shot in the paint and Collin Turner hit back to back shots. Salisu Yahaya finished the run with a second-chance layup and a free throw attempt to push the lead to 34-16.
- LCU ended the run at the 1:50 mark by two made free throws by Ty Caswell to trail 34-18.
- ASU entered halftime with a 36-23 lead and held the Chaparrals to just two field goals (5 points), the rest of LCU's points came off free throws (8) in the final 13:05.
- After trailing by 25 points in the second half, LCU threatened a comeback and hit the game-tying layup to send the game to overtime.
- Turner kept the Rams' hopes alive, hitting an off-balance three-pointer with 3.3 seconds remaining to send the game to a second overtime.
- The senior guard scored seven of ASU's 14 points in the second overtime to close out the victory for the Rams, 97-92.

"I can't say enough about how gutsy of a win that was by our team. Foul trouble plagued us the whole night and we had so many guys step up and make huge plays. Obviously, Collin had one of the most memorable games for ASU in LSC tournament history. He had his mind made up we were going to win the game and made sure it happened."
